Home.co.uk: House Prices Report for Leicester – January 1995 to October 2017

Property Values in Leicester are increasing but what will 2018 spell out for property prices in Leicester?

A report by home.co.uk displays the average property sale price for each type of property in Leicester for each month from January 1995 to October 2017. The second graph displays the median property sale price graph for Leicester, which may be more helpful for spotting trends. The third graph displays the number of properties sold each month in Leicester.

House prices across Leicester are soaring by 7.5% year on year and is the third highest rise of any UK city.

Latest figures suggest the average price of a home in the city hit £167,400 last month – higher than cities such as Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, Liverpool and Leeds.

Figures from property market specialist Hometrack showed prices in Leicester are now also 18 per cent up on the 2007 peak.
Schemes such as Help to Buy, where the Government lends up to 20% of the cost of a newly built home, have helped some people afford the rising house values, but have not stopped the sharp rise in prices, according to Leicester Mercury.
